Speech Day 4

In the library Thursday and Friday we will research for our next INFORMATIVE SPEECH...about THE OLYMPICS.

Some students will research the SITE of the 2014 Winter Games as well as future olympic sites

Other members of class will research the various olympic sports and explain to the class the rules of the sport, gear associated with the sport, and how one achieves a GOLD medal.

The people researching the LOCATIONS will inform the class about:
The name of the city and country
Important aspects of that location
Why the Olympic Committee chose that city
Landmarks to see when visiting that location

The people researching the sports will share with the class:
Rules of the sport
Equipment needed to participate
Skills needed to be successful at the sport

Your speech will be 3 minutes long and include a visual aide. Your visual aide must be from PowerPoint, Glogster, or Prezi.

You will turn in your NOTES from your research and you will include citations for ALL websites you visit.

You will turn in your NOTECARDS along with your speech.

A rubric for the written portion is attached on SOTW.

HOMEWORK: Read Chapters 10 and 11 in the text.
